Lonely Planet Review
You couldn't be more centrally accommodated in the Alice unless you camped out in the sandy bed of Todd River. The Aurora Alice Springs is a mere stumble off Todd Mall and recent renovations have cheered up the hotel's interior no end.
Apart from the rowdy, beer-soaked confines of the pub at the northern end of Todd Mall, this is the only accommodation in town with direct access to Alice's pedestrian heartland. Renovations have jazzed up the building's facade and while the decor of the rooms remains unimaginative, it's decidedly fresher than the previous incarnation. The least expensive rooms surround a quiet inner courtyard, but we recommend checking out the rooms that lie the furthest from Leichhardt Tce, as these are the biggest and come equipped with cable TV. The hotel's eatery, the Red Ochre Grill Café Restaurant, has a courtyard area that's perfect for grazing on sunny days.
