Corkwood Cottage Longe Area

Lonely Planet Review

Quotes At last, a place that really lives up to its name. This outback retreat gives you the rare opportunity to suspend your cares and lose yourself in the arid vastness of an outback cattle station whose late-19th century origins are represented by some fine historic stone buildings.

Spend your time here lounging around your private cottage, reading in wicker chairs, soaking in a tub, or cooking up a BBQ in the late afternoon; BYO food and drink supplies as only breakfast is provided. When your body demands some activity, ease yourself into the pool, jump on a tennis court or wander around the 1515-sq-km (585-sq-mi) property to enjoy the secluded setting. Or use the retreat as a base for entertaining forays into nearby Alice Springs or the spectacular MacDonnell Ranges. The two cottages for hire are very comfortable and have a partly modern character rather than a full-on heritage style.
