More Las Vegas than Mumbai, this Arabian fortress of a hotel dominates the shoreline of Juhu Beach. From the outside, the looming sandstone walls seem impregnable, but pass between the potted palms and wooden pavilions and you'll find one of Mumbai's most relaxing luxury hotels. From the vast, airy atrium to the dreamy beachside pool, the Marriott demands that you stop, and exhale. It's the perfect antidote to the hectic bustle of downtown. The positive energy extends to the bright, uncluttered rooms and in-room facilities include laptop links, well-stocked minibars and bathrooms with separate baths and showers. The free teddy bear for homesick executives is a nice touch. A great place to recharge your batteries after a long flight or a stress-filled boardroom meeting.
