Lonely Planet Review

Quotes This fabulously successful international chain has studios and apartments for longer stays at 17 properties in Paris. Prices vary depending on the time of year and the property. A small studio for two people has a fully-equipped kitchen (fridge, microwave, dishwasher, crockery and cutlery).

This property overlooking the Seine and Île de la Cité is particularly well-placed and has 204 studios and two-room apartments spread over seven floors. There are some rooms with wheelchair access, and the building has air-con throughout. Other properties include those at Les Halles (4 rue des Innocents, 1er); Montmartre (16 av Rachel, 18e); and Opéra Grands Boulevards (18 rue Favart,2e).

How To Get There

From Paris Orly Airport (ORY):
Distance to Citadines Paris Saint Germain hotel is 24 kilometres, approximately 35 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Shuttles run between both terminals and the airport train station. The RER line C train stops at Porte Maillot, Invalides, St Michel-Notre Dame and Gare d'Austerlitz. The Air France shuttle travels to Gare de Montparnasse. The Orlybus shuttle goes to Denfert-Rochereau metro stop. Taxis to the city centre cost about 34 EUR-45 EUR (45 EUR-55 EUR at night). Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is on Ter Quai Des Grands Augusti. The nearest metro station is Saint Michel. Paris is easy to explore on foot, and there is a reliable, cheap metro (underground), which runs throughout the city and the suburbs. Buses are a great way to see the city's sights. Tickets can be purchased from bus drivers or from the machines in metro stations. Regional RER trains run to destinations in the surrounding area. Taxis are available in the streets, but can be hard to find at busy times. Advance booking is recommended. Parking is available on site (surcharge).

Author Tip

Taverne Henri IV (13 Place du Pont Neuf, 1er), a serious wine bar as well as a decent place for a nibble, is one of the very few places to drink on the Île de la Cité. It is just across the Pont Neuf from the Apart'hotels Citadines Paris St-Germain des Prés.

Curious Fact

Henri IV was known as the Vert Galant (which translates as 'jolly rogue' or 'dirty old man', depending on your perspective) for his sexual prowess.
