Quotes This classy small hotel with 32 well-equipped rooms is located on a quiet street between rue Monge in the Latin Quarter and the Jardin des Plantes. The welcome is always particularly warm here - it's a member of the Logis de France hotel umbrella association, which is always a sign of quality.

Rooms are hardly what you would call spectacular, with pretty standard-issue furnishings and fitted faux Oriental carpet. But they are well-equipped and there are five sizes and shapes to choose from; some have views eastward to the Jardin des Plantes. Most of the rooms here are reserved for nonsmokers and there's one room for handicapped guests.

How To Get There

From Paris Orly Airport (ORY):
Distance to Hotel Saint Christophe is 30 kilometres, approximately 35 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Shuttles run between both terminals and the airport train station. The RER line C train stops at Porte Maillot, Invalides, St Michel-Notre Dame and Gare d'Austerlitz. The Air France shuttle travels to Gare de Montparnasse. The Orlybus shuttle goes to Denfert-Rochereau metro stop. Taxis to the city centre cost about 34 EUR-45 EUR (45 EUR-55 EUR at night). Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The hotel is on Rue Lacepede. The nearest metro station is Place Monge. Paris is easy to explore on foot, and there is a reliable, cheap metro (underground), which runs throughout the city and the suburbs. Buses are a great way to see the city's sights. Tickets can be purchased from bus drivers or from the machines in metro stations. Regional RER trains run to destinations in the surrounding area. Taxis are available in the streets, but can be hard to find at busy times. Advance booking is recommended. There is car parking near the hotel.

Curious Fact

Celtic Gauls called Parisii (believed to mean 'boat men') established a small settlement on what is now the Île de la Cité in the 3rd century BC but were conquered some 200 years later by the Romans, who set up the town of Lutetia (from the Latin for 'mid-water dwelling').
