Lonely Planet Review

Quotes The Corinthia Towers is an ultramodern 26-storey high-rise close to Vyšehrad. It is aimed very much at international business travellers attending events at the congress centre right across the road. Five-star comforts and amenities, including a spectacular rooftop swimming pool are at hand.

Professional, efficient and courteous, the Corinthia Towers is everything that international business travellers could wish for. The Prague Congress Centre is just across the road (linked with a pedestrian walkway) and the Vyšehrad metro station, which the hotel likes to call its 'own', sits in the forecourt. This is one of those places that could be absolutely anywhere in the world. It's shiny and luxurious in an understated way, with four themed restaurants, a couple of bars and a cafe, as well as a casino, fitness centre, squash court and ten-pin bowling lanes. There are two conference centres and all the usual business facilities. More privacy and luxury is offered by the 'executive club' which has its own reception, lounge, bar and boardroom. Distant views of the towers of St Vitus Cathedral from the northwest-facing windows remind you that you are indeed in Prague.

How To Get There

From Prague Ruzyne Airport (PRG):
Distance to the Corinthia Towers Hotel is 13 kilometres, approximately 25 minutes' drive.

Getting there. Registered taxis wait outside the Arrivals hall and cost about 600 CZK-900 CZK (22 EUR-32 EUR) to the city centre. Minibuses depart from outside the Arrivals hall and run to Namesti Republiky square, in the city centre. The single fare is 90 CZK per person. Bus numbers 119 and 254 run to Dejvicka, the airport's closest metro station. The journey takes about 20-30 minutes, and single tickets cost 20 CZK (1 EUR). Prices are all subject to change.

Getting around. The Corinthia Towers Hotel is located on Kongresova street. Prague's historic centre is compact and easy to explore on foot, as many roads are pedestrianised. There is an efficient and inexpensive public transport system, including trams, buses, metro, and a funicular railway. Tickets are available from tobacconists, stations, and many hotel reception desks, and can be used on all modes of transport. Five of the major metro stations have information offices, with schedules, maps, and directions. The hotel has a car park for guests (surcharge).

Driving directions. From Prague Ruzyne Airport:
Follow the signs for the city centre on the K Letiste motorway.
Pass the big junction soon after leaving the airport, then take Evropska until the big roundabout, and turn right onto Svatovitska.
At the T-junction turn left onto Milady Horakove and turn right onto Bubenska at the next T-junction.
The name of this street changes to Wilsonova after you cross the river.
Take this dual carriageway in the direction of Vysehrad.
Just after crossing Nuselsky Most bridge, exit on the right-hand side.
After exiting, go under Nuselsky Most to the other side of the motorway to find Kongresova and the Corinthia Towers Hotel.
The hotel is clearly visible from the motorway.

Author Tip

The ancient citadel of Vyšehrad is roughly 10min to the west, but otherwise there's little of interest in the immediate area. Italian, Asian, Czech and 'international' cuisine can be sampled at the hotel's four restaurants, or you could try your hand at a spot of ten-pin bowling or blackjack in the casino, if that's your thing.
