Lonely Planet Review
With its bright reds, greens and yellows, the reception of this above-average hostel resembles that of a contemporary design hotel. Facilities, if less eye-catching, are excellent and include an internet room with four terminals.
Voted the world's fifth best hostel in the 2004 hostelworld.com annual survey, the Yellow is a top choice. It's a buzzing place with everything you might want in a hostel - good-looking, sociable staff, 24-hour hot water showers, private lockers, luggage storage and an extensive DVD collection (including a range of macho classics - Scarface, The Godfather, Apocalypse Now etc). Beds are in six- or 11-person dorms, a huge breakfast menu is available and the English-speaking staff are laid-back. Free towels and sheets are also provided, if for no other reason than to ensure everyone's got a costume for the frequent toga parties. On the third floor the dorms boast air-con, private bathrooms, beds with orthopaedic mattresses and individual reading lights.
